Trauma Registrar
Job Summary
As our Trauma Registrar, you will accurately abstract and enter data from patient records into the Trauma Patient Registry. Your meticulous work ensures a consistent and reliable trauma database, vital for program evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Abstract data from complex patient records, applying AIS and ICD-10 injury coding for accurate entry.
- Work closely with the Trauma Registry Supervisor and Trauma Program Manager, ensuring database integrity and quality.
- Generate basic registry reports.
- Code injury severity for all traumatic injuries using multidisciplinary notes, pre-hospital information, radiology, operative and consultation reports.
- Abstract each patient's medical record to accurately detail diagnosis, procedures, complications, and discharge status.
- Maintain a working log of individual patients.
Job Requirements
- Required: High School GED, High School Diploma and Three + years experience in a medical setting, Experience in ICD-10 coding and data abstraction/entry.
- PREFERRED: Associates Degree, Other and Emergency Department, trauma, or surgical experience, One year Trauma Registry experience, AIS injury coding.
