Trauma Quality Specialist - Trauma Services | Part-Time, Days (Queens Campus)
NewYork-Presbyterian Queens is one of three Level I Trauma Centers in Queens, accredited by the American College of Surgeons. Our Trauma Services team includes experts from Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Vascular, and multiple interdisciplinary departments dedicated to guiding patients through all phases of trauma care and recovery.
About the role
The Trauma Quality Specialist is responsible for identifying and abstracting trauma patient data in alignment with New York State Trauma Program requirements and the American College of Surgeons (ACS) standards. This role ensures accurate data collection, validation, and submission to support performance improvement, injury prevention, and research initiatives. You will play a key role in enhancing trauma program outcomes through rigorous data management, communication, and collaboration with a dedicated team of doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.
Responsibilities
- Identify and abstract trauma patient data according to New York State Trauma Program requirements and ACS standards.
- Ensure accurate data collection, validation, and submission to support performance improvement, injury prevention, and research initiatives.
- Support performance improvement initiatives within the trauma program.
- Contribute to patient safety and clinical excellence through data-driven insights.
Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- Experience with basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology.
- Data abstraction and computer data entry skills (Microsoft Excel).
- Superior communication and customer service skills.
Qualifications
- CAISS (Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist) Certificate (preferred).
- CSTRN Certificate (preferred).

Pay
Salary Range: $34.00-$36.50/hourly.
Schedule
This is a part-time, day shift position at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens. All roles require on-site presence, and employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
