Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (Required)
  • 5 or more years’ nursing experience in surgical care, critical care, and/or an emergency department, with increasing responsibility and interest in trauma care (Required)
  • RN in the state of Georgia (Required)

Essential Functions

  • Act as a resource person within the department regarding communication skills.
  • Establish a strong working relationship between healthcare professionals, family, and patient in order to strengthen clarity.
  • Cooperate with other personnel to achieve good employee relations.
  • Attend and participate in hospitalists staff meetings.
  • Contribute to the smooth operation of the Inpatient Medicine Specialists Department.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Establish and maintain close contact with primary care providers and their nursing staff regarding their inpatients being serviced by Inpatient Medicine Specialists team.
  • Analyze and manage reporting of data.
  • Complete quality reviews or reports at the direction of the director.
  • Identify areas for further investigation and need for further 'drill down' of data.
  • Prepare reports to assist with accreditation of various initiatives/recognition programs, such as PCMH, Patient Safety, etc.
  • Design and maintain organization-wide quality scorecard.
  • Prepare Quality Committee reports including graphs, summary level data on all quality initiatives.
  • Maintain appropriate databases and reporting structures/media.
  • Effectively communicate with physicians, staff, peers using all mediums.
  • Implement applications, tools, and processes that assist clinicians with the management of data in patient care and the provision of health care.
  • Research patient data across multiple applications to resolve discrepancies and/or improve workflow.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Participate in departmental Quality Improvement projects.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of intradepartment Quality improvement and the projects/indicators utilized to measure.
  • Actively participate in collection of data.
  • Analyze outcomes, assist director with formulation and implementation revisions of policy and practice to achieve desired goals.
  • Participate in assigned Hospital committees/meetings and projects.
