Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Authorized hours: 80.00 hours bi-weekly
About the role
Coordinates and facilitates the transition of trauma patients from inpatient status into the outpatient setting for follow-up. Functions as a case manager, monitoring patient progress via utilization review procedures to identify patient management problems that contribute to increased morbidity and mortality or a prolonged length of stay.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patient progress through utilization review procedures
- Identify patient management issues impacting morbidity, mortality, or length of stay
- Maintain effective relationships with medical personnel at all levels within the institution and community
- Form and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and their families
- Demonstrate critical thinking, computer literacy, and familiarity with research methodology
- Work with minimal supervision and adapt schedule as needed to meet job requirements
- Travel as necessary
Requirements
- Current Arkansas RN license
- Five years of experience in the care of trauma patients
- Advanced skills in critical care nursing
- Advanced certifications (e.g., CCRN, CEN, TNCC, ATLS, ACLS)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-directed and flexible
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
- Previous experience in an expanded role such as Trauma Coordinator
- Two years of management experience, preferably in a trauma program setting
