Transporter PRN Evenings Float Pool

Various locations – Phoenix, AZ. PRN (as needed) evening shift, 10:00 AM – 8:30 PM.

About the role

Transports patients and materials throughout all hospital areas. Each transporter is responsible for maintaining an average transport time within the guidelines of network leadership and campus needs. Maintains transport equipment and supplies, complies with regulations, safety and patient care protocols, and ensures customer service and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients by wheelchair, stretcher, bed or chair and performs non-patient moves to and from designated areas or departments.
• Complies with all safety protocols when transporting patients and materials; uses proper body mechanics and ensures patient safety during transfers.
• Operates company-issued mobile devices, which may include dispatch duties.
• Maintains accurate documentation and completes accurate handoff with clinical staff.
• Communicates appropriately with patients and care team members: introduces self, verifies patient identity, and informs patient of destination.
• Follows HonorHealth Standards of Conduct and demonstrates ICARE values at all times.
• Complies with established PPE guidelines and proper handling of patients.
• Maintains and sanitizes wheelchairs and stretchers following established protocols; reports equipment malfunctions and removes faulty items from service.
• Utilizes Electronic Medical Record system(s) consistently for safe and efficient transport of patients.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• 6 months of work experience in healthcare and customer service (preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire (required).
