Transporter PRN Evening Float Pool

Various locations – Phoenix, AZ. PRN (as needed) evening shift, 10:00 AM – 8:30 PM.

About the role

Transports patients and materials throughout all hospital areas. Each transporter is responsible for maintaining their individual average transport time within the guidelines of network leadership and campus needs. Maintains transport equipment and supplies, complies with regulations, safety, and patient care protocols, and ensures all customer service and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients by wheelchair, stretcher, bed, or chair and performs non-patient moves to and from designated areas or departments.
• Complies with all safety protocols when transporting patients and materials, using proper body mechanics and ensuring patient safety during transfers.
• Operates company-issued mobile devices, which may include a dispatch role.
• Maintains accurate documentation and completes precise handoffs with clinical staff.
• Communicates appropriately with patients and care team members, introducing themselves, verifying patient identity, and informing patients of their destination.
• Follows HonorHealth Standards of Conduct and demonstrates ICARE values at all times.
• Complies with established PPE guidelines and proper patient handling protocols.
• Maintains and sanitizes wheelchairs and stretchers following established protocols; reports and removes malfunctioning equipment from service.
• Utilizes Electronic Medical Record system(s) consistently for safe and efficient patient transport.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• 6 months of work experience in healthcare and customer service (preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire (required).
