About the role

Provides safe and efficient transport for assigned patients and patient related items throughout the hospital in a courteous and professional manner thus enhancing patient satisfaction. Located at Hunterdon Healthcare System Inc., 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients and patient related items as dispatched in a safe and efficient manner following hospital protocols.
• Keeps the Dispatcher informed of transport delays to allow reassignment and maintain workflow.
• Ensures transport is accompanied by an SBAR and reviews it for transport‑specific information (e.g., O2, aspiration risk, fall risk).
• Follows Infection Prevention protocols: washes hands in/out, disinfects, cleans, and stores equipment after each transport.
• Verifies patient ID using two identifiers, including checking the patient’s wrist band before transport.
• Inspects wheelchairs and stretchers prior to use to ensure serviceability.
• Completes and attaches a “Red Tag” for equipment needing repair and informs the Dispatcher.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: None required; High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Preferred: Prior hospital experience in a similar role or experience affecting customer satisfaction.
• Detail oriented, good sense of direction, time and task flexibility, able to work under general supervision.

Pay

Hiring range: $17.00 – $21.25 hourly.

Schedule

Per Diem, Sunday through Saturday with rotating weekends and holidays; all shifts.
