Transporter-Driscoll Access Center

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Keeps cribs, wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds moving throughout the hospital departments and assists in transporting patients throughout the facility for admissions, discharges and procedures.
• Assists in moving high-risk patients (patient handling risk assessment tool) from stretcher to bed and vice-versa, using mechanical devices whenever feasible.
• Is responsible for the tracking and location of patient handling equipment, identification of new equipment needs.

• Transports specimens throughout and outside the facility as needed.
• Transport items/equipment throughout the facility as needed.

Education & Licensure

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification recognized by AHA required prior to employment.
