About the role

The transporter transports patients to and from the department. This role performs clerical duties for the department such as answering telephones, greeting patients and preparing requisitions for outpatients. The transporter should demonstrate adequate knowledge of the usual terminology of tests ordered in department, demonstrate good telephone etiquette, and be able to greet patients and other visitors in a polite and friendly manner.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from the department
• Perform darkroom duties
• Order supplies
• Stock supplies
• Dress patients
• Perform front office duties
• Answer telephones
• Greet patients
• Prepare requisitions for outpatients
• File patient reports
• Retrieve patient records for physicians or medical records
• Provide clerical support by utilizing telephone, computer, office equipment, PACS (Picture Archive and Communication System)
• Run errands throughout the facility

Qualifications

• BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current throughout employment
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Transportation experience preferred

Pay

$16.20 to $23.46
