Responsibilities
- Transport patients safely and timely between nursing and ancillary departments.
- Assist nursing and ancillary departments with patient movements and lifts.
- Assist nursing staff with patient movements for the purpose of patient care and comfort.
- Communicate effectively with hospital staff, medical staff and patient family members.
- Retrieve supplies and equipment needed to facilitate the transfer, safety and well being of patients and staff.
- Deliver patient charts, x-ray films, and notify appropriate personnel of patients' locations.
- Maintain a current CPR certification to fulfill job-related tasks.
- Adhere to Infection Control policies and procedures.
- Complete Skill Level Competencies (Oxygenation of patients and Body Mechanics and Lifting techniques).
- Respond to requests from patients, physicians and visitors in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Comply with all safety driving standards set by law and maintain a safe driving record.
- Perform individually or as a team member during inclement weather as assigned.
- Exhibit positive communication skills when dealing with patients.
Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- High School Graduate / GED.
