Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely and timely between nursing and ancillary departments.
• Assist nursing and ancillary departments with patient movements and lifts.
• Assist nursing staff with patient movements for the purpose of patient care and comfort.
• Communicate effectively with hospital staff, medical staff and patient family members.
• Retrieve supplies and equipment needed to facilitate the transfer, safety and well being of patients and staff.
• Deliver patient charts, x-ray films, and notify appropriate personnel of patients' locations.
• Maintain a current CPR certification to fulfill job-related tasks.
• Adhere to Infection Control policies and procedures.
• Complete Skill Level Competencies (Oxygenation of patients and Body Mechanics and Lifting techniques).
• Respond to requests from patients, physicians and visitors in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Comply with all safety driving standards set by law and maintain a safe driving record.
• Perform individually or as a team member during inclement weather as assigned.
• Exhibit positive communication skills when dealing with patients.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• High School Graduate / GED.
