TRANSPORTER

About the role

The Transporter position at Archbold Medical Center requires no prior experience but must demonstrate the ability to work closely with patients, maintain good relationships with nursing units, and transport patients safely.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with patients of varying acuity levels
• Maintain good relationships with nursing units and other hospital departments
• Understand and practice safe patient transfer techniques
• Understand oxygen administration, IV equipment, and various tubes and dressings
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pulling, and pushing
• Work independently or under supervision as directed by the situation
• Work under stressful conditions

Requirements

• High School Graduate
• Must demonstrate the ability to work closely with patients, maintain good relationships with nursing units, and transport patients safely.

Skills

• Ability to work closely with patients of varying acuity levels
• Good relationships with nursing units and other hospital departments
• Safe patient transfer techniques
• Oxygen administration, IV equipment, and various tubes and dressings
• Physical demands including lifting, bending, pulling, and pushing
• Visual acuity, hearing ability, and speaking ability
• Wear respiratory protective mask for periods of time
• Ability to work under stress
