Transportation Technician

About the position

VHB is looking for an on-call Transportation Technician to join their team in the Orlando, FL office. The position offers flexible hours ranging from 10-40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Counting vehicles at intersections (manually or via video)
• Placing rubber tubes in roads to count traffic
• Deploying cameras at intersections (download/upload videos)
• Sketching, taking digital photographs, and collecting other field data
• Maintaining data collection equipment and vehicles (e.g., regular oil changes, tune-ups)

• Basic computer skills
• Quickly learning to operate new devices and software
• Flexible with timeframes and deadlines, following strict procedures and safety guidelines
• Reliable transportation and cell phone
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Team-oriented with strong capability to work independently

Minimum Qualifications

• 0-1 years of experience in data collection
• High school diploma or GED
• Active driver's license
• Open availability and flexible scheduling
• Communicate regularly with manager regarding schedules
