TRANSPORTATION SURVEYOR PARTY CHIEF (CALTRANS)

About the role
Under the supervision of a Senior Transportation Surveyor, incumbents perform a wide variety of land-surveying tasks in a field setting. The role involves planning, coordinating, and participating in complex surveying activities as the supervisor of a field crew.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and participate in field surveying tasks.
- Supervise and direct the activities of a field survey crew.
- Perform difficult and complex land-surveying assignments.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid California Land Surveyor License (proof required prior to hire).
- Valid driver’s license required for operating State-owned or leased vehicles.
- Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the TRANSPORTATION SURVEYOR PARTY CHIEF (CALTRANS) exam. New candidates must be on the state examination list to be eligible.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications will be verified prior to interview or appointment. If basing eligibility on education, unofficial transcripts or diplomas must be provided. Applicants with foreign transcripts must submit a U.S. equivalency evaluation report from a NACES or AICE approved agency.
Pay
$10,198.00 - $12,761.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range, if applicable.
Schedule
Permanent, full-time position. In-office work location in Orange County.
