Transportation Supervisor
Transportation Supervisor responsible for daily dispatch, vehicle maintenance, driver orientation, evaluation, and training. This role collaborates closely with the Branch Operations Manager to ensure safe, effective, and efficient service to customers.
Schedule
Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm or until work is completed, with rotating Saturdays. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs and may require overtime.
Pay
Highly competitive wages starting at $80,000/year.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of daily dispatch, including 1 to 3 deliveries per day.
- Supervision of all route drivers.
- Routine review of route sequence and dispatch goals; modify as needed via weekly route reviews.
- Oversight of 3PL shipping (FedEx, UPS, and other common carriers).
- Development and implementation of vehicle preventative maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
- Management of outside vendor and service relationships.
- Daily communication of truck-related issues with the Branch Operations Manager.
- Improvement and maintenance of company image, including recommending cosmetic repairs.
- Strive to meet departmental budgets and objectives.
- Maintain equipment records in accordance with Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations.
- Oversee DOT compliance and reporting as it relates to the fleet.
- Collaborate with the Safety Team for safety and OSHA compliance.
- Manage DMV registration requirements and renewals.
- Track fleet expenses by asset number and provide recommendations to increase efficiency and profitability.
- Review monthly fleet expenses by asset and provide recommendations based on findings.
- Participate in route driver training, including onboarding and recruiting.
- Plan schedules to include ride-a-longs as part of the weekly routine.
- Utilize GPS, telematics, and in-cab cameras to track, trend, and coach driver behavior.
- Lead the “How’s My Driving” campaign for assigned branch vehicles.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Operations Team and Branch Operations Managers to review new fleet purchases and replacement needs.
- Analyze fleet age and recommend replacements as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or Technical Certificate, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Minimum 3+ years of increasingly responsible experience in Fleet Management and Leadership.
- Tire industry knowledge preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

- Ability to adhere to a flexible schedule, including early morning or late evening site trips.

- Ability to travel regionally in Southern California and on multi-day site trips to distribution centers outside of Southern California.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects/tools/controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear, taste, and/or smell. The employee must occasionally lift products weighing up to approximately 80 pounds and handle tires (e.g., rolling, destacking, team lifting) greater than approximately 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Protective Equipment Required: Steel or composite toe boots, safety vest, harness, seatbelt, SRL (self-retracting lifeline). All equipment is provided by U.S. AutoForce except for steel/composite toe boots.
Work Environment: The employee may be exposed to weather conditions, moderate noise levels, and fumes associated with tires, car parts, and lubricants.
