Essential duties for Transportation Specialist III/IV/V

• Assists in overseeing and administering contracts for installation and maintenance of traffic systems and traffic data collection devices.
• Assists in overseeing project assignments and determining work requirements to complete project plans and coordinates scheduling to accommodate projects already underway.
• Assists in planning, developing, administering and monitoring district maintenance contracts and service agreements.
• Conducts immediate inspection of damaged bridges, determines necessity of temporary or permanent repairs and notifies maintenance personnel; makes recommendations for the closing of bridges.
• Coordinates and performs interim and final inspections to identify deficiencies.
• Coordinates engineering field staff activities and provides technical assistance in resolving construction problems.
• Develops and prepares consultant work orders and agreements.
