Transportation Specialist for Residential Facility

Responsibilities

• Arranges and schedules transportation to the bus station, airport, appointments requested from health services, and appointments requested from facility/supervisor.
• Ensures each client requiring transportation receives safe transportation and understands the purpose for all departments.
• Captains transportation services for all departments.
• Helps out with any transport needs when available.
• Consistently completes van usage logs and driver daily van inspection checklists.
• Maintains van for cleanliness and performs preventative maintenance.
• Completes errands as required by the facility.
• Adheres to facility confidentiality policies and procedures.
• Ensures all passengers in the vehicle are wearing seat belts and adhere to no smoking or eating policy in facility vehicle.

Qualifications

• Experience working in residential treatment, or working with individuals with multiple conditions.
• The Van Driver must be sensitive, receptive, and mature enough to be neither upset by the residents, nor cause the residents further adjustment difficulties.
• The Van Driver must be able to make positive use of professional supervision, function effectively in an interdisciplinary team approach, and participate in, and profit from in-service and on-the-job training.
• The Van Driver must maintain an attitude toward interactions with clients that is objective, free from personal bias; one that allows for perspective and flexibility in observing groups and individual behavior patterns.
• Current First Aid and CPR training or complete within first 30 days of hire.
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
