Transportation Specialist

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Drive a CMV (commercial motor vehicle) to deliver the product within the local route assigned.
• Operate a CMV in different conditions (e.g., highway driving, side/local roads, city/country as well as tight loading and unloading positions).
• Perform general housekeeping tasks and maintain the cleanliness of vehicles and other areas as instructed.
• Prepare, process, and maintain all necessary transportation documentation & information – both in and out of various operating systems – required for DOT compliance.
• Develop strong interaction, in and amongst customers, service providers, and the internal team to ensure fluid, efficient movement of product.
• Secure proof of delivery by using a supplied (EPOD) Electronic Proof of Delivery device.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints in a timely manner through collaboration with the Operations manager and sales team.
• Comply with all applicable safety, transportation regulations, and company policies.
• Responsible for maintaining Quality and Safety awareness.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities

• Maintain a clean and valid Commercial Driver’s License *Class A or BMaintain a Valid Medical Card.
• Maintain forklift certification.
• Must be able and willing to lift up to 75 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
• Experience as a transportation specialist in a related industry, preferred.
• Must be able to strap and secure cargo and properly arrange and balance it within the vehicle.
• Have basic knowledge of all DOT regulations.
• High standard of professionalism and ethics.
• Preferred style of teamwork, and collaboration.
• Able to communicate effectively both verbally and with written communications.
• Able to interface with customers and employees fostering excellent communication skills and customer service.
