Transportation Specialist, Amazon Inbound Transportation

Description

Amazon is seeking a Transportation Specialist to assist with resolving stakeholder issues related to daily freight movements into and out of North American fulfillment centers and the associated fulfillment network. This role offers an opportunity to join a growing team in a high-pressure environment.

Key job responsibilities

• Continual, tactical communication with external customers (Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers) and internal customers (Retail, Finance, Software Support, Fulfillment Centers)
• Pull and analyze data from numerous databases (Excel, Access, SQL, etc.) and perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed
• Publish performance metrics to drive business results
• Identify and eliminate root causes of defects in transportation operations to drive efficiency
• Quickly understand business impact of trends and make decisions based on available data
• Systmatically escalate problems or variances in information and data to relevant owners and teams and follow through on resolutions
• Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs while measuring and identifying activities performed
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to create narratives and present findings in review forums

Qualifications

• 1+ years of working with computers and Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel) experience
• High school or equivalent diploma
• Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required
• Flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
• Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in MS Access and SQL
• A completed Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or 2+ years Amazon work experience
• Experience in engineering, operations, logistics, or related fields
• Data management and data quality control experience with large set analysis
• Demonstrated experience using data to drive root cause elimination and process improvement
• A self-starter who loves data and enjoys spotting trends in it

Starting Pay

The starting pay for this position is listed below. Final starting pay will be based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. The starting hourly rate for this position in Tempe, AZ is $21.00 - $29.00 USD.
