Transportation Specialist, Amazon Global Logistics, Cross Border Execution
Description
Amazon's Cross Border Execution (XBE) Team is seeking a Transportation Specialist to resolve stakeholder issues related to daily freight movements into and out of North American fulfillment centers and the associated fulfillment network. This role involves continual, tactical communication with external and internal stakeholders, data extraction, performance metric publishing, trend identification, and issue escalation.
Key job responsibilities
- Continual, tactical communication with external stakeholders (Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers) and internal stakeholders (Retail, Finance, Software Support, Fulfillment Centers)
- Ability to extract data from numerous databases (using Excel, Access, SQL, and/or other data management systems) and perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed
- Publish performance metrics to assist in driving business results
- Identify and eliminate root causes of defects to drive efficiency in Amazon's transportation operations
- Quickly understand the business impact of trends and make data-driven decisions
- Systematically escalate problems or variances in information and data to relevant owners and teams, and follow through on resolutions to ensure delivery
- Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs while measuring and identifying activities performed
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to create a narrative outlining weekly findings, variances to goals, and present these findings in review forums

Basic Qualifications
- 1+ years of working with computers and Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel) experience
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Be 18 years of age or older

The starting pay for this position is listed below. Final starting pay will be based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
