About the role
As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government airport location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for travelers, visitors, and staff. You will provide outstanding customer service, communicate clearly, and report observations using computer or tablet tools.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and public agency personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of terminals, public areas, restricted access points, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
- Monitor access activity and observe people, vehicles, and/or property throughout the location, documenting security-related incidents and escalating concerns according to site procedures.
- Support orderly operations by assisting with directions, answering general questions, and reporting maintenance, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout airport facilities, terminals, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas, reporting unusual conditions and maintenance concerns.
- Monitor access to restricted areas and verify authorized entry in accordance with site-specific procedures and applicable regulations.
- Help to deter unauthorized activity through a professional presence, observation, and timely reporting of suspicious activity or policy violations.
Requirements
- 18+ years of age.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Ability to use computers – basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical exam.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation and drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

$24.25 / hour
