About the role

We are seeking a Transportation Roadway Engineer to join our team in Jacksonville, FL.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development of roadway plan efforts and report preparation for in-house projects ranging from minor intersection improvements to major reconstruction projects.
  • Participates in the production of in-house traffic design, signing and pavement markings.
  • Performs and reviews engineering construction cost estimates using FDOT Long-Range Estimate (LRE) software system.
  • Prepares, reads, interprets, and reviews plans, design reports, specifications, and cost estimates for major transportation projects.
  • Performs designs utilizing CAD and proficiency in OpenRoads.
  • Position does require time management and organizational skills as the individual will be involved in multiple projects operating on multiple schedules.
  • May coordinate with professionals, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments.
  • Organizes or directs field visits to collect data or resolve design conflicts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • PE license required or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Must be familiar with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Policy and Procedures, including the Florida Design Manual (FDM) and FDOT Standard Plans.
  • General Engineering Consultant (GEC) experience is a plus.
  • Must be highly proficient with MicroStation/OpenRoads (ORD) software packages.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • PE license required or the ability to obtain within 6 months.

  • Proficiency with MicroStation/OpenRoads (ORD) software packages.

Pay

Expected compensation range is between $90,000 - $110,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.

Schedule

Full time.
