About the role
We are seeking a Transportation Roadway Engineer to join our team in Jacksonville, FL.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the development of roadway plan efforts and report preparation for in-house projects ranging from minor intersection improvements to major reconstruction projects.
- Participates in the production of in-house traffic design, signing and pavement markings.
- Performs and reviews engineering construction cost estimates using FDOT Long-Range Estimate (LRE) software system.
- Prepares, reads, interprets, and reviews plans, design reports, specifications, and cost estimates for major transportation projects.
- Performs designs utilizing CAD and proficiency in OpenRoads.
- Position does require time management and organizational skills as the individual will be involved in multiple projects operating on multiple schedules.
- May coordinate with professionals, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments.
- Organizes or directs field visits to collect data or resolve design conflicts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
- PE license required or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Must be familiar with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Policy and Procedures, including the Florida Design Manual (FDM) and FDOT Standard Plans.
- General Engineering Consultant (GEC) experience is a plus.
- Must be highly proficient with MicroStation/OpenRoads (ORD) software packages.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
- PE license required or the ability to obtain within 6 months.

Pay
Expected compensation range is between $90,000 - $110,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
