About the role

This position manages projects and activities on a range of project types and sizes, including traffic-related projects. Responsibilities include managing team members, coordinating with internal and external project teams, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and adhere to Quality Control/Quality Assurance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in proposal development and interviews for a range of project sizes and types
  • Engage in business development efforts through understanding the local client market and participating in professional organizations
  • Aid in reviewing agreements
  • Identify project team and staffing requirements consistent with contractual obligations
  • Initiate projects with the accounting department and participate in monthly invoicing of projects and tracking accounts' receivables
  • Lead kick-off meetings to convey scope, tasks, and budgets to team members
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to develop a project schedule which aligns with client’s project delivery goals
  • Manage day-to-day activities for projects of varying complexity and coordinate with internal and external multidisciplinary team members to ensure deliverables meet project requirements
  • Manage project communication and deliverables to ensure the quality of documentation and professionalism
  • Delegate tasks and lead the team in developing design criteria, performing analyses, and preparing design documents on a wide range of project types and sizes
  • Conduct Quality Control/Quality Assurance reviews of work completed on assigned projects, including traffic signal plans and traffic studies
  • Prepare and conduct client and stakeholder presentations with support from senior management
  • Maintain effective working relationships with team members and clients; mentor and support less experienced team members
  • Ensure compliance with all TERRA standards and guidelines
  • May participate in recruiting activities

Requirements

Essential functions include participation in proposal development and interviews, engaging in business development efforts, aiding in agreement review, identifying project team and staffing requirements, initiating projects, leading kick-off meetings, collaborating with clients and stakeholders, managing day-to-day activities, delegating tasks, conducting quality control reviews, preparing and conducting presentations, maintaining working relationships, ensuring compliance, and participating in recruiting activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable discipline
  • 8+ years of applicable engineering experience
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Professional Licensure preferred
  • Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) Certification strongly preferred

Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to engage with professionals in a multi-disciplinary environment and communicate with clients
  • Strong ability to convey information through effective verbal and written communication
  • Highly proficient with computer-aided design software and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering
  • Proficient in general documentation software such as Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient using project management software and tools for financial management, reporting, and resource utilization
  • Demonstrated public speaking, presentation, and leadership abilities
  • Demonstrated understanding of industry and construction practices, methodologies, and best engineering practices
  • Able to conduct site visits as needed, may require a valid driver's license
  • Effectively maintains office and field health & safety requirements and protocols
  • Maintains a work schedule conducive to team collaboration and project-specific requirements
