About the Role
Mead & Hunt is seeking a highly motivated Transportation Project Manager to join our growing Transportation team in Wisconsin. In this role, you'll lead impactful transportation projects, build lasting client relationships, and help develop the next generation of engineering talent. Whether you're managing complex roadway improvements, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, or serving as a trusted advisor to clients, you'll be empowered to make a meaningful impact on the communities we serve. This position can sit in our Madison, WI; Green Bay, WI; Eau Claire WI; La Crosse, WI; or West Allis, WI office.
Responsibilities
- Take charge of delivering impactful transportation projects for WisDOT, county, municipal, and public-sector clients.
- Inspire and lead a talented team as you plan, design, and develop innovative transportation solutions.
- Showcase your expertise by preparing and reviewing reports, studies, specifications, construction documents, cost estimates, and other critical technical deliverables.
- Collaborate closely with clients, regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and diverse project teams throughout every stage of project development and delivery.
- Build lasting client partnerships and proactively identify new opportunities for collaboration and professional growth.
- Drive project success by monitoring financial performance, managing resources, and ensuring timely, high-quality completion.
- Uphold the highest standards by overseeing quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes and ensuring compliance with all relevant engineering standards and regulations.
- Provide visionary technical leadership, mentorship, and career development support for our engineering and technical staff.
- Play an active role in business development, participate in client meetings, prepare compelling proposals, attend interviews, and help pursue exciting new projects.
- Network with industry organizations and take part in professional activities to strengthen relationships and promote Mead & Hunt’s leading-edge transportation services.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering.
- At least eight years of progressive, hands-on experience in the industry.
- A valid PE license from any state, with readiness to secure Wisconsin licensure within six months of joining our team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing projects with WisDOT.
- Proven leadership in highway engineering design utilizing WisDOT Civil 3D for plan development.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams preparing plans and specifications.
- Skilled at coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including state Departments of Transportation.
- Strong client management capabilities.
- Possession of a Wisconsin Professional Engineer (PE) license.
