The Transportation Project Manager will serve as a key leader on transportation projects, managing scopes, budgets, and schedules. Responsibilities include mentoring team members, contributing to strategic growth initiatives, and representing the company at industry events.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a project manager on transportation (state and municipal highway/roadway) projects, managing scopes, budgets, and schedules.
- Manage project teams and technical staff, including mentoring of other professionals and student interns.
- Contribute to Nebraska, regional, and corporate strategic growth initiatives.
- Participate in business development and marketing, including championing relationships with key public agency and private sector clients, networking, preparing SOQs, proposals, and contracts.
- Represent Benesch at industry and professional engagement events.
- Identify opportunities and lead strategic project pursuits.
- Lead and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Present findings through written and verbal communications skills, including public speaking at information meetings, client meetings, and interviews.
- Prepare and assist with grant applications.
Requirements
Benech is seeking a Transportation Project Manager with 8+ years of experience in design of roadways, highways, and interstates from preliminary to final stages. The ideal candidate will have a B.S. degree in Engineering or a related field, and a Professional Engineering License in Nebraska (or the ability to obtain one upon hire).
Experience includes excellent communication, strong written and oral skills, and the ability to interact with clients, agencies, and other stakeholders. Candidates should also have experience in making presentations, attending conferences, and participating in interviews.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have strong organization and leadership skills, experience in preparing technical analysis, and in project management including cost control, project budget control, and quality assurance/quality control. They should also have experience in the public bidding process and the ability to work independently and develop task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner.
Skills
Strong organizational and leadership skills, excellent communication and client relations, and the ability to prepare technical analysis and manage projects are essential. Experience in public bidding and project management is also required.
