The Loudoun County Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure (DTCI) is seeking a self-motivated Transportation Program Manager to join the special projects team. Responsibilities
- Manage multiple studies and projects, including corridor and speed management studies and development of local road safety plans.
- Make recommendations to resolve complex roadway safety and operational issues based on engineering principles in compliance with federal, state, and county policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with federal, state, and local transportation agencies and other Loudoun County departments.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and county regulations.
- Effectively convey complex technical ideas verbally and in writing.
- Manage contracts in accordance with county policies.
- Conduct public meetings and present findings to the public and elected officials.
- Interpret traffic analysis reports and engineering drawings.
- Provide prompt and effective customer service to various stakeholders.
- Manage multiple time-sensitive tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a related field; or four (4) years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking experience.
- Ability to comprehend technical and traffic analysis reports and engineering drawings.
- Ability to reason and solve problems collaboratively.
- Valid driver’s license.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, including criminal, credit, and driving record checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- GIS experience.
- Data visualization experience (graphical representation of data to produce dashboards, graphics, and charts).
Schedule
- Eligible for partial telework in accordance with County and Department policies.
- Flexible scheduling available to address required meeting attendance outside of normal business hours.
- Occasional attendance at night meetings to present information to the Board of Supervisors and/or other stakeholder groups.
