Transportation Planning Analyst
Role Overview
The Trucking Planning Analyst supports the Trucking Planning Manager by executing strategic planning initiatives, managing operational and commercial data, and producing high-impact business materials. This role blends analytical capability, sales-support experience, and logistics industry knowledge to generate Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), market intelligence reports, and client-facing materials that strengthen branch-level performance across U.S. transportation operations.
Responsibilities
- Data Analytics & Reporting (Monthly Deliverables)
- Data Processing: Collect, process, and analyze raw data for monthly branch revenue and performance metrics, ensuring alignment with the Planning Manager's strategic direction.
- MBR Preparation: Develop and compile comprehensive Monthly Business Review (MBR) materials for leadership.
- Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze monthly market trends to produce actionable market status reports.
- Sales Support & Material Development
- Sales Documentation: Leverage prior sales experience to design, update, and refine sales presentations and promotional materials.
- Cross-functional Communication: Translate complex operational and planning data into clear, client-facing or internal sales materials.
- Operational & Compliance Support
- Process Integration: Assist in the analysis and integration of standard operating procedures across various transportation branches.
- Asset & Compliance Management: Track and manage trucking equipment (assets), maintain necessary business licenses, and oversee asset insurance documentation.
- System Implementation: Support the active rollout and operational alignment of the TMS 2.0 system in coordination with the Planning Manager.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of professional experience in business analysis, logistics planning, or supply chain. A proven track record in a sales or sales-support role is highly required.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel (data manipulation, pivot tables, raw data analysis) and PowerPoint (creating professional sales decks and MBRs).
- Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
