Transportation Planner Specialist II role focused on driving tasks to completion, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating across functions to achieve business objectives in the clinical trials and pharmaceutical logistics space.
Responsibilities
- Drive tasks to completion amidst ambiguity.
- Mentor junior staff and provide guidance on project management.
- Collaborate across functions to achieve business objectives.
- Engage in problem-solving and analytical thinking to address challenges.
- Manage transportation from origin to destination for clinical trial materials and other pharmaceutical products.
- Track and trace shipments across assigned lanes, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to routing plans.
- Monitor carrier performance and resolve transportation-related issues.
- Develop and maintain routing strategies and lead-time management in ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Work closely with Clinical Supply Planning, Master Planning, Clinical Operations, Logistics, Trade Compliance, and external partners.
- Support initiatives and projects as a functional area expert (SME) for transportation processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a science or business function or equivalent experience.
- 2-3+ years related industry experience in Clinical Trials or Pharmacy (preferred).
- 2-3+ years related experience in Clinical Supplies – from Supply Chain, Packaging, Distribution, or IRT functions.
- Demonstrated good project management skills.
- Ability to create effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Effective communication and direction.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Proficient in the English language.
Pay
The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $51,000.00 - $127,400.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, experience, location, and schedule. Incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, along with a range of health, welfare, and other benefits.
