About the role
Oversee Transportation Department operations functions to ensure effective and efficient pupil transportation services for the district.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid license/certification or ability to obtain
- Texas commercial driver's license (Class B or A) with "P" and "S" endorsements
- Texas Department of Public Safety School Bus Driver certification
- Texas Association for Pupil Transportation (TAPT) Supervisor Certification (or higher) preferred
Skills
- Working knowledge of pupil transportation operations
- Ability to manage personnel
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiently read, write, and communicate verbally in English
- Applicable Computer Skills (experience With Transfinder Preferred)
Experience
Five years' experience in school bus transportation, with training and safety experience preferred.
Requirements
- Ability to pass Texas Department of Public Safety school bus driver physical exam
- Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests
- Must be able to pass criminal history check and MVR driving record check
- Ability to operate a school bus
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Working Conditions
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment. Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching. Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds). Environment: Frequent districtwide travel. Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
