Transportation Operations Manager

About the role

The Transportation Operations Manager leads and supervises a team of Transportation Area Managers to streamline logistics within each site. This role requires driving process improvements and keeping pace with explosive growth while motivating others to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of Transportation Area Managers
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures
• Mentor, train, and develop teammates for career progression and learning
• Develop and share best practices across shifts and network
• Travel up to 50% may be required

Requirements

• 3+ years of employee and performance management experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

Qualifications

• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
• Experience managing a team of 2+ salaried employees and 70+ indirect employees
• Experience scoping, leading, and implementing process improvements through: Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma
• Demonstrated problem solving skills and analytical skills
• Excellent customer service skills, communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Track record of meeting or exceeding department performance goals

• Ability to develop and share best practices across the shifts and network
• Flexibility to work a variety of hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays
