Transportation Manager (Distribution Center) (1142702)

Responsibilities

• Full ownership of the transportation function in a high-volume, customer-focused DC
• Leadership of 8–10 Transportation Supervisors, 190–220 drivers, and a team of Routers
• Driver selection, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and safety compliance
• DOT and OSHA compliance oversight
• Routing optimization to maximize customer satisfaction and route profitability
• Fleet maintenance, equipment scheduling, and rental coordination
• Daily delivery scheduling, backhaul planning, and route adjustments
• Maintenance and monitoring of computerized fleet management systems (RoadNet, XATA, Tripmaster)
• Annual transportation budget preparation and cost analysis (fuel, leases, equipment)
• Closing partnership with the Warehouse Manager to maximize operational efficiency

Requirements

• A High School Diploma/GED
• 4+ years of transportation experience with strong DOT knowledge
• Preferably from food distribution: broadline, wholesale, retail, or foodservice
• 2+ years as a Transportation Manager
• Experience developing staffing models and forecasting labor
• Strong KPI and productivity analysis skills
• Budget management experience
• Proactive leadership style — not reactive
• Strong service ethic and customer-first mindset
• Experience with computerized fleet systems (Samsara, RoadNet, XATA, etc.)
• Class A CDL preferred
