About the role

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is seeking a full-time TMC Operator located in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This is a shift work position requiring rotating and extended shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provides clear and concise safety information concerning Wyoming roadways 24 hours per day
• Draws information from various sensors and personal reports
• Gathers information from reports and relays it via ITS devices and other systems
• Takes direction from lead operators during complex operational scenarios

Requirements

• Preference will be given to those with one (1) year of Technical Operations work experience
• Must be able to type 35 words per minute
• Knowledge of Wyoming's transportation system and ability to multi-task under stress
• Experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Decisiveness and organizational skills

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One to three years of progressive work experience in Technical Operations
• Ability to type 35 words per minute
• Legible handwriting
• Willingness to work all shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Skills

• Technical Operations experience
• Computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Customer service skills

Pay

The position offers a hiring bonus of $2,000, contingent upon meeting eligibility criteria.
