About the role

Voltage is seeking a detail-oriented Transportation Logistics Specialist to coordinate, monitor, and optimize domestic and international transportation activities. In this role, you will play a critical part in driving supply chain efficiency by ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant movement of goods. You will collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, suppliers, and third-party logistics partners to proactively manage shipments, resolve issues, and maintain accurate logistics operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments across multiple transportation modes (TL, LTL, rail, ocean, and air freight).
  • Schedule shipments and select carriers based on service requirements, cost, and performance.
  • Monitor shipment status, proactively identify delays, and implement corrective actions to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Communicate daily with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
  • Track carrier performance, freight costs, and service levels to support continuous improvement.
  • Support carrier onboarding, rate management, and contract compliance.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain transportation documentation (bills of lading, packing lists, freight invoices, shipping reports).
  • Ensure compliance with domestic and international shipping regulations and company policies.
  • Support audits, claims management, and freight discrepancy resolution.
  • Track key metrics such as transit times, freight spend, and delivery performance.
  • Maintain accurate data within TMS, ERP systems, and internal databases.
  • Generate reports and provide insights to support logistics planning and cost optimization.
  • Partner with Procurement, Warehouse, Manufacturing, Customer Service, and Finance teams to align transportation plans.
  • Support customer inquiries regarding shipment status and delivery timelines.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance transportation efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce transportation costs.
  • Support logistics projects, system enhancements, and process documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support supply chain operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 3–6+ years of experience in transportation logistics, freight coordination, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience working with domestic and/or international transportation providers required.
  • Strong understanding of transportation modes, freight terms, and logistics operations.
  • Experience with TMS and ERP systems preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • Work is performed primarily in an onsite office environment, with occasional visits to warehouses, distribution centers, or transportation hubs as needed.
