Transportation Logistics Specialist

About the role

We are partnering with a respected organization to share an opportunity for a Transportation Logistics Specialist supporting truck transportation across multiple product lines. Our team is seeking a detail-oriented professional who can help improve freight execution, manage carrier relationships, and support market-based rate accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support carrier management activities through rate negotiations, relationship management, capacity planning, shipment execution, carrier segmentation, and spend control.
• Negotiate transportation rates and contract terms, maximize load pairing opportunities, and contribute to cost-effective freight decisions.
• Analyze transportation operations to identify process improvements, resolve cost issues, and support independent problem-solving under general supervision.
• Monitor carrier performance and maintain accurate records in transportation systems, internal documents, spreadsheets, databases, and rate files.

Requirements

• Contract assignment with an expected length of 6 months.
• Must be available to work onsite in Lincoln, Nebraska, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Must be open to potential overtime during harvest season.
• Must be able to participate in a two-round interview process, including a first-round interview with the Hiring Manager and a second-round panel interview.

Qualifications

• Experience with grain commodity trading is listed as a nice-to-have and may be helpful in this role.

Skills

• Strong negotiation skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in transportation management software.
