Transportation / Highway Senior Project Engineer

Responsibilities
- Lead transportation projects from early planning through final design and construction support, including:
- Highway and roadway design
- NYSDOT and Federal Aid projects
- Design reports and technical documentation
- Construction plans, specifications, estimates, and bid documents
- Multidisciplinary project coordination
- Technical reviews and quality oversight
- Client and agency coordination
- Construction-phase engineering support
- Take ownership of projects and guide teams through complex technical and delivery challenges
- Influence project decisions and improve how our transportation team approaches its work
- Mentor younger engineers to develop their judgment and confidence
- Build and maintain strong client and agency relationships
- Grow professionally by taking on increasingly complex projects and responsibilities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Eight or more years of transportation engineering experience
- Experience delivering NYSDOT and Federal Aid transportation projects
- Strong roadway and highway design experience
- Experience preparing and reviewing design reports, plans, specifications, estimates, and bid documents
- Proficiency with MicroStation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead project teams and develop productive client relationships
- New York Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or willingness and ability to obtain one shortly after joining

Pay
Estimated Salary Range: $121,680–$138,320 annually. Actual compensation is based on experience, education, certifications, technical expertise, geographic location, and market conditions.
