About the role

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Transportation Engineer III in our Peoria, IL office.

Responsibilities

  • Manage/Complete engineering plans and specifications production using IDOT Standards.
  • Complete Federal Aid projects for a variety of clients.
  • Led a variety of projects and study types including roadway, underground utility, drainage, traffic, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Complete general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
  • Aid with business development and client management opportunities for transportation and infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate construction activities with clients, inspectors, contractors and public agencies.
  • Conduct on-site observation of work, repairs, and tests as needed.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois (or ability to acquire within 6 mos.).
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with municipal or highway agency transportation projects.
  • Knowledge of OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil 3D.
  • Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area (own transportation).
  • Ability to independently handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
  • Work within a team-first culture that encourages individual development and accomplishment of goals.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer in Illinois.
  • Must have at least 5 years of relevant experience with municipal or highway agency transportation projects.
  • Must have knowledge of OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil 3D.
  • Must be able to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area.
  • Must be able to handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities independently.
  • Must have strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work within a team-first culture that encourages individual development and goal accomplishment.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $90,000 to $120,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.

Schedule

Flexible work arrangements, including the option to work from home on half Fridays and varied schedules.
