About the role
Under the direction of a Senior Transportation Engineer (Design Senior), the incumbent will serve as a Project Engineer, acting as a lead person in the technical preparation and development of transportation projects. Responsibilities include ensuring quality work related to the design aspect of projects to meet assigned scope, budget, and schedule. Guidance may periodically be received from the Supervising Transportation Engineer and/or the Deputy District Director.
Conducts and coordinates the technical preparation of Project Initiation Documents, Project Reports, Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E), and Design Exceptions for transportation projects, applying professional engineering principles to the development and review of design deliverables. Assigns and reviews the work of others in preparing project plans and documents. For Range D incumbents, may serve in responsible charge of engineering work related to project design and ensures production of high-quality engineering products.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical preparation and development of transportation projects.
- Ensure project designs meet scope, budget, and schedule requirements.
- Prepare and coordinate Project Initiation Documents, Project Reports, Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E), and Design Exceptions.
- Apply professional engineering principles to develop and review design deliverables.
- Assign and review the work of others in preparing project plans and documents.
- For Range D incumbents, serve in responsible charge of engineering work related to project design and ensure high-quality engineering products.
Pay
Annual salary range: $77,856.00 - $145,824.00
