About the role

Transportation Engineers perform engineering duties throughout North Region Division of Project Development and Construction. Based on annual workload, delivery commitments, and seasonal needs, incumbent may be assigned by the Department to a variety of positions in an office or field environment.

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of a Branch Chief, a Senior Transportation Engineer, perform various transportation engineering tasks of average difficulty.
• Apply Caltrans standards, manuals, guidelines, policies, directives and computer software applications.
• Travel is required. A valid driver's license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle.

Requirements

Must possess a valid driver's license and a valid Professional Engineering License (Civil) issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

Skills

Knowledge of Caltrans standards, manuals, guidelines, policies, directives and computer software applications.
