Transportation Engineer
Position Summary
Mccormick Taylor has an immediate opening for a Transportation Engineer III to join our Transportation Department. Projects may include roadway improvements, intersection design, ADA design, bicycle facility design, site improvements, transit facilities, as well as field visits and inspections. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment. We are seeking an individual who can handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and work well in a hybrid remote office environment. Strong written, interpersonal and oral communication skills, attention to detail and ability to organize is required.
Responsibilities
- Work under the supervision of project managers to develop design solutions on a variety of roadway, bridge, and other transportation projects
- Geometric design and development of plans, specifications, and estimates
- Knowledge of roadway design elements, standards, and constructability methods
- Work independently on engineering assignments
- Direct entry-level staff and technicians
- Assist with development of design and construction schedules
- Work effectively with clients, including Federal, State, and local agencies
- Develop project management and budgeting skills, as applicable
Qualifications
- 6 to 12+ years of experience in the design of highway/roadway, civil engineering and transportation
- BS in Civil Engineering, MS is a plus
- PE Certification required
- Proficient in MicroStation, AutoCAD, InRoads, OpenRoads, and Microsoft Office 365 Suite
