About the role
Transportation Engineer 1 hire will complete ODOT’s Transportation Civil Engineering Program, which includes a 12‑month training plan and scheduled rotation through the department’s core engineering disciplines: Planning & Engineering, Construction, and Highway Maintenance. The position is based at District 12 HQ in Garfield Heights, Ohio.
Responsibilities
- Receive a thorough introduction to the three core civil engineering disciplines.
- Work alongside ODOT professional engineers.
- Receive hands‑on transportation training and experience needed to further your career as an engineer with ODOT.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering; accepted for the Basic Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (EIT exam) by the Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors.
