Transportation Driver
The Arc of Greater New Orleans (ArcGNO) is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live meaningful, independent lives. Since 1953, ArcGNO has provided advocacy, education, and support services to individuals and families across Jefferson, Orleans, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, and St. Tammany parishes. Our programs include family support coordination, supported living services, employment and job coaching, community integration programs, and transportation services that help individuals thrive at home, at work, and in their communities.
About the role

Responsibilities
- Provide safe and reliable transportation to passengers transported by the Arc
- Ensure all passengers are properly seated and secured in vehicles
- Ensure people in wheelchairs are safely secured
- Ensure proper supervision of passengers
- Follow all safety protocols including reporting accidents, following all traffic safety laws, and ensuring the safety of all passengers
- Maintain daily trip logs and other related paperwork
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicles
- Report any issues regarding vehicle maintenance and safety to supervisor
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean motor vehicle report and insurable under the agency's insurance
- Ability to pass DOT physical
- Experience working alongside individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of the New Orleans metro and surrounding areas
Pay
$13 USD per hour
