Responsibilities
- Drives truck over established routes to deliver, unload, and account for products of the dairy industry to customer’s place of business and distribution points.
- Follows all Department of Transportation regulations.
- Records transactions and prepares paperwork.
- Maintains proper logs and other information as required by the Company and D.O.T.
- Listens to and resolves service complaints.
- Keeps the inside of the truck clean.
- Performs routine maintenance on the truck.
- Works and drives in a safe, courteous, and efficient manner.
- Climb, crawl, and walk in an upright as well as a bent position to facilitate loading and unloading product at destination and carrying merchandise.
- Load and unload product at destination and carry merchandise.
- Collect or pick up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise.
Required Technical Skills
- Able to operate a Tractor-Trailer
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Basic navigation skills
Required Soft Skills
- Able to follow both verbal and written instructions
- Coachable and willing to learn
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work without direct supervision
- Basic Math skills
Physical Requirements
- Stack and unstack items weighing 50 pounds from a height of approximately seven feet to the ground and back continually.
- Drag stacks of milk weighing approximately 240 pounds, throughout the shift.
- Work in very hot (100+) and very cool (less than 32) environments throughout the year.
- Work outside most of the time, regardless of the conditions.
Education, Certifications And Experience
- Must have a Class A Commercial Driver's License
- Minimum Age: 21, as per Federal D.O.T. regulations
- The following is preferred:
- A minimum of two years in transportation
- Good driving record
