Transportation Driver

Responsibilities

• Drives truck over established routes to deliver, unload, and account for products of the dairy industry to customer’s place of business and distribution points.
• Follows all Department of Transportation regulations.
• Records transactions and prepares paperwork.
• Maintains proper logs and other information as required by the Company and D.O.T.
• Listens to and resolves service complaints.
• Keeps the inside of the truck clean.
• Performs routine maintenance on the truck.
• Works and drives in a safe, courteous, and efficient manner.
• Climb, crawl, and walk in an upright as well as a bent position to facilitate loading and unloading product at destination and carrying merchandise.
• Load and unload product at destination and carry merchandise.
• Collect or pick up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise.

Required Technical Skills

• Able to operate a Tractor-Trailer
• Basic mechanical knowledge
• Basic navigation skills

• Able to follow both verbal and written instructions
• Coachable and willing to learn
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work without direct supervision
• Basic Math skills

Physical Requirements

• Stack and unstack items weighing 50 pounds from a height of approximately seven feet to the ground and back continually.
• Drag stacks of milk weighing approximately 240 pounds, throughout the shift.
• Work in very hot (100+) and very cool (less than 32) environments throughout the year.
• Work outside most of the time, regardless of the conditions.

Education, Certifications And Experience

• Must have a Class A Commercial Driver's License
• Minimum Age: 21, as per Federal D.O.T. regulations
• The following is preferred:
• A minimum of two years in transportation
• Good driving record
