Transportation Dispatcher - Weekends

About the role

We are seeking Dispatchers to join our team at US FOODS®. This position works Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00am to 7:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Verify that the customer's needs are met in a prompt and professional manner.
• Notify the manager/supervisor in charge and the safety specialist of vehicle accidents or driver injuries.
• Coordinate driver activities to minimize hours of service violations.
• Assign backhauls and trailer and tractor assignments to be done efficiently.
• Communicate concerns about service issues to the sales force and operations management.
• Reassign routes as needed.
• Inspect drivers' uniforms and ensure they have required PPE.
• Coordinate shuttle assignments to minimize downtime and overtime.
• Complete Attendance Reports.
• Distribute intercompany mail to the sales force.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Two years of transportation experience.
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations and driver's logs.
• Organized and detail-oriented with legible handwriting.
• Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• CDL A license preferred.

Pay

The starting pay is $25.00/hr, with the expected base rate ranging from $18 - $28 depending on experience and location.

Schedule

Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 11:00am - 7:30pm

Qualifications

Must be able to manage several things at once, have legible handwriting, and have two years of transportation experience.

Skills

Must have a high school diploma or GED, working knowledge of DOT regulations and driver's logs, and a CDL A license preferred.
