Transportation Dispatcher
About the role
T.G. Lee Dairy is seeking a well-rounded Dispatcher to join their Orlando Transportation department. The primary responsibilities include scheduling all outbound shipments, coordinating back hauls, inputting accurate data, maximizing carrier load weights, and ensuring efficient operations.
Responsibilities
- Schedule all outbound shipments and coordinate back hauls for cost-effective transport.
- Determine daily shipping needs and assemble orders that make up outgoing loads.
- Input/maintain accurate data regarding carriers, deliveries, and costs in IT systems and reports.
- Maximize carrier load weights and volume by coordinating orders with other facilities.
- Dispatch approved carriers and confirm load and delivery dates.
- Maintain customer proof of delivery/Bills of Lading files and work with inventory control to optimize warehouse space.
- Utilize a continuous improvement mindset to identify process improvements.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 6 months of related experience.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Experience within the transportation industry preferred.
- Able to sit for virtually the entire shift.
- Able to lift up to 10 pounds and assist others when lifting is required.
- Able to operate a computer, phone, and other office equipment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

$24.00 per hour

Sunday: 5:00 am to 1:00 pm
Monday: 5:00 am to 1:00 pm
Tuesday: 5:00 am to 1:00 pm
Wednesday: 5:00 am to 1:00 pm
Thursday: 5:00 am to 1:00 pm
Friday: OFF
Saturday: OFF
