About the Role
Under general supervision of the Supervisor of Transportation, this position assists in coordinating bus schedules for daily routes, field trips, sporting events, and other District functions. The role involves evaluating, resolving, or recommending solutions to accidents and may include acting to facilitate operations in the absence of the Supervisor. The incumbent is expected to work independently while adhering to established procedures. This position may also require driving a school bus route and is routinely designated to act in the absence of the Transportation Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate bus schedules for daily routes, field trips, sporting events, and other District functions.
- Evaluate, resolve, or recommend solutions to transportation-related incidents or accidents.
- Facilitate transportation operations in the absence of the Supervisor of Transportation.
- Drive a school bus route as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid California Class B Driver’s License with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- School Bus Driver’s Certificate with Restriction #1 only.
- Job-related experience is required.
- Equivalency: Graduation from high school and one year of experience operating a motor vehicle.
Pay
Monthly salary range: $5,174 (Range 54, Step 1) – $6,291 (Range 54, Step 5). Hiring may be made up to Step 3, per the CSEA contract.
Schedule
12-month, full-time position.
