Transportation Dispatch Supervisor

Ziegler CAT has an opening for a Transportation Dispatcher to coordinate equipment movement for Ag, Rental, and Product Support divisions, by utilizing internal resources and external third-party vendors in the most efficient and cost effective manner. Responsibilities Manage, support, and conduct performance reviews for assigned DriversCommunicate haul requests to drivers via TDMSupport drivers, coordinators, and sales team with answering questions through phone or email in a timely mannerPromptly communicate any delays, issues, or concerns with completing the requested haulPartner and collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure seamless transportation of equipmentMaximize utilization of company assets using dispatching and tracking toolsMake business decisions and answer questions based on understanding of vehicle capacities and capabilitiesProvide after-hours support for emergency haul requestsMaintain relationships with outside vendors and identify new vendors as neededNegotiate prices with third party vendors to remain competitive Utilize haul bidding tools available (currently 123Loadboard) to secure the best price for all haulsAward bids to carriers for hauls based on price, service level, quality, and availabilityEnsure loads assigned to internal resources are completed following Federal, State, and Local regulationsPromote a safe work environment and devise action plans to correct unsafe conditionsMonitor department KPI’s to ensure operational effectivenessImmediately follow up with customer complaints regarding hauling or other issuesMaintain and share knowledge of company products to better serve our customerPromote and demonstrate the Ziegler WayConverse regularly with drivers and managers to ensure issues at branches and locations are addressedCommunicate road restrictions to sales group (by state)Other duties as assigned by Transportation & Fleet Manager Qualifications HS degree required, 4-yr degree preferredPersonal Attributes: Attention to Detail, Customer Focus, Efficiency, Problem Solving, TeamworkStrong familiarity with DOT (MN, IA, WI, MO) and FMCSA regulations Strong PC knowledge, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)Past carrier selection and negotiation experience preferredStrong understanding of transportation processes required Minimum Physical Requirements Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearingWorking Conditions are indoors. The pay range for this position is $64,400.00 to $77,250.00 Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant’s location.
