Transportation Coordinator

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Supports warehouse team with the planning of outbound LTL & truckload shipments.
• Ensures the timely pickup of freight and submitting required documentation such as ASN’s or customs clearance.
• Communicates in a professional manner while working as a team - be the advocate of the customer in ensuring the product is delivered in the most efficient manner.
• Takes on special projects upon request as directed by leadership, including any implementation of continual improvements.
• Addresses inquiries from the account management team related to pending to ship or already in transit product.
• Supports the transportation manager in maintaining the relationship with used 3PL.
• Maintains up-to-date awareness of the industry trends and suggests continual improvements as they may be identified.
• Utilizes in-house ERP to route freight and ensure adherence to customer routing requirements.
• Communicates driver /carrier performance issues to transportation manager.
• Attends staff meetings and training programs, as requested.
• Provides backup to other operations staff as needed.
• Attends work consistently and punctually.
• Requests time off per policy.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years in Transportation and Logistics strongly preferred.
• A degree in Transportation and Logistics can substitute for experience.
• Demonstrated ability to write standard operating procedures and work instructions including demonstrated process improvement and systematic process improvement skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
• High level of professional integrity and discretion.
