Transportation Construction Inspectors (All levels - Senior, Inspector, Trainees)
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of full-time inspection experience in highway, transit and/or facilities
- Construction
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Willing to travel throughout the State of Maryland as required
- A vehicle in good working condition to report for work at any required site
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Successful acquisition and maintenance of inspection training and certifications (ACI, Soils & Aggregates, HMA, Traffic Control, Erosion & Sediment Control, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Perform transportation construction inspections on Highway, Bridges, Environmental, Traffic, and Facilities type projects
- Write daily progress reports
- Oversight of contractor work crews to ensure compliance with contract documents
- Reading and interpretation of contract documents to verify that safe construction practices are being utilized to produce quality results
- Perform field tests on materials (concrete slump/air, soil compaction, and HMA)
- Complete documentation of materials, labor compliance, safety, processing estimates, work orders, and adjustments
- Report on-site activities and daily progress to the Project Engineer via standardized reporting, responsible for calculation and determination of pay quantities
Pay
A competitive salary range of $19.23 to $50 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus, with a target 2% of the employee's annualized salary.
