Transportation Construction Inspector (Entry-Level)

About the role

This position is an entry-level opportunity to join HDR’s South Carolina Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) team. You will perform construction engineering and inspection duties on highway and bridge construction projects, adhering to SCDOT policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform materials testing and construction observation
• Prepare and submit reports related to construction activities
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Identify and report discrepancies or conflicts within the documents
• Enforce contract documents
• Travel to meetings, site visits, and inspections as needed
• Work nights and/or weekends as required by client project needs

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong written and communication skills
• Able to work independently or as part of a team
• Licensed to operate motor vehicles in accordance with applicable state law
• Preferred: SCDOT experience
• Required: Tech school degree
