Transportation Clerk - 1st Shift

Responsible for daily and weekly maintenance of pallet tracking, audit of driver logs and trip reports, and tracking of DOT requirements for logs and driver files. Acts as a liaison for internal customer support and tracks return goods for close-out of returns from the private fleet.

Responsibilities

• Perform various office and administrative duties, including handling accounts payable/receivable and collections, payroll, fuel reconciliation, office supplies, billing, maintaining databases, and miscellaneous reporting
• Audit logs, trip reports, and other DOT reporting; maintain files and handle customer service interactions
• Resolve driver equipment requests and track pallets
• Maintain and distribute route books; interface daily with drivers
• Assist with driver coverage for vacation and overflow freight
• Coordinate and follow up on equipment maintenance with Penske Truck Leasing Shop
• Perform accurate record keeping and audit driver manifests
• Maintain confidentiality
• Complete other projects and tasks assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• 2 years of general office experience required
• 1 year of customer service experience required
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• AS400 experience preferred
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, and work at the specified location
• Must complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history), and drug screening

Pay

$20.00 per hour

Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:00 pm
