Transportation Area Manager

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with site leadership on quality and Customer Experience metrics, including root cause analysis of problem areas
• Streamline logistics in the operation through implementation of standard work and team leadership
• Support and commit to all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all associates
• Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives and Lean tools
• Supervise Transportation Associates to ensure Amazon customers receive their orders
• Ensure properly trained team members and address their needs so they can focus on their jobs
• Support, mentor, and motivate the hourly workforce
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises
• Lead change at internet speed to drive innovation

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
• Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
• Experience managing a team of 20+ employees
• Experience with process improvements (Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma)
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field
• Industry experience in: retail, F&B, military, manufacturing, automotive, biotech, electronics, energy, instrumentation, machinery, defense/aerospace, medical, cosmetics, production or distribution environments

Pay

The base salary range for this position in Newark, CA is $77,000.00 - $100,000.00 USD annually. The Amazon package includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
